Caregiving Services by NewBridge Services enable caregivers to run errands, take a few moments for themselves, gain emotional balance amidst the caregiving responsibilities and get advice and counsel on coping with issues. County Library Offering Preloaded Flash Drives of Audiobooks to Visually Impaired A grant from Disability Rights New Jersey to the State Library Talking Books and Braille Center has enabled the Morris County Library to offer preloaded flash drives of audiobooks to eligible area residents. Individuals with low vision who register with the TBBC can select from such free services as audiobook player, audiobooks, Braille books, downloadable audiobooks and audio magazines and news reading services Audiovision and Newsline. Daily Plan It, Free Help with Senior Food Shopping A program from Community Options, a non profit organization for adults with disabilities that offers a helping hand to seniors who need food shopping done. Information: Mary Estren, 973.277.6185.
House Call Groceries for Seniors (HCG) Visiting Nurse Association of Northern New Jersey offers this program to any Morris County resident 60 years old or older who lives alone and/ or is homebound with a caregiver who is also elderly, frail, or disabled, and has limited access for assistance from family/friends. HCG volunteers (who have gone through a criminal background check, and other compliance measures per agency policy) generally shop once a week, or once every two weeks, depending on specific needs and their schedule. There is an administrative fee of $5 per shopping trip associated with this service, billed monthly. Information: 800.938.4748 or click here

RSVP offers A Friendly Outreach for Care Receivers Do you ever feel bored? Do you frequently feel lonely? Do you miss a departed love one? You may benefit from a Telephone Reassurance Program. If you are a care receiver and if you could use further connection with the outside world we can offer a viable solution. Screened and trained volunteers make phone calls to seniors (and to permanently disabled individuals) who request this free outreach service.
