Support Groups for Caregivers — Other Counties

These support groups are designed specifically for caregivers. There are many other support groups designed for people living with a specific disability or chronic illness. Search online, or reach out to your local hospital and medical network for help in locating disability and disease-specific support groups in your area.

Adler Aphasia Center: Maywood
Monthly life coaching sessions for caregivers. Meets 2nd Monday of the month at 7:00pm at the Adler Aphasia Center, 60 W. Hunter Avenue, Maywood, NJ 07470.

Alzheimer's Caregivers Support Group: Pompton Plains
Meets 2nd Wednesday of the month, from 7:00pm – 8:30pm at the First Reformed Church of Pompton Plains, at 529 Newark Pompton Tpke, Pompton Plains.

Imagine, A Center for Coping with Loss: Westfield                                                               Coping With Illness program: Peer-support groups are available for children and parents on the third Wednesday of each month from 6:30 - 8:30 PM. Tender Living Care Peer Support Group: Westfield
For families with a parent (primary caregiver) or child living with a life-altering physical illness. Tender Living Care (TLC) helps children, teens, and adults cope with the changes and losses that come along with serious illness, helping caregivers find sensitive ways of communicating with and guiding children during difficult times. TLC is a free year-round biweekly peer support group program for children and teens ages 3-18 and their parents/guardians, and for young adults 18-30.
