Support Groups for Caregivers — Sussex

These support groups are designed specifically for caregivers. There are many other support groups designed for people living with a specific disability or chronic illness. Search online, or reach out to your local hospital and medical network for help in locating disability and disease-specific support groups in your area.

Al-Alon Family Groups
12-step fellowship of families and friends of alcoholics. Includes groups for children and adult children. Offers comfort, hope and friendship through shared experiences.

Alzheimer’s Association Caregivers Support Group: Newton

ASPEN Family Support Group: Wantage
For adult family members of individuals with Asperger syndrome, PDD-NOS and high functioning autism. Meets 3rd Saturday of the month at 2pm, Good Shepherd Episcopal Church, 200 Route 23 South, Wantage.

Diabetes Support Group: Newton

Matters of the Heart Codependency Support: Newton

For family members or other primary caretakers of individuals with a mental illness. Confidentiality is always respected. Facilitated by National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). Stroke Support Group:
Offered through Morristown Medical Center, this stroke support group holds virtual meetings for caregivers on the 3rd Thursday of the month at 1 pm.
